    Thanks for that detailed explanation Matt!  If possible I would like to do in house for the learning experience.  Just a quick question though, when you say you are not guaranteed a static IP, does that mean they are too expensive to purchase?  Or have they officially run out of them?

    I am a big fan of the Microsoft Integration Services Step by Step book for learning the fundamentals.  You can find it at most public libraries or Amazon for $30.  Not sure of any online tutorials.

    Personally I prefer C#.  My company is also a C# shop.  What sucks is that if you want to make custom extensions via Script Task (Visual Studio for Applications) in SQL Server 2005 Integration Services you are forced to use VB.Net.  C# is not an option for some reason.  The only way around this is to create your own C#.Net ...

  • C# versus Visual Basic (2005 version)

    I got a lot of interest and debate when I brought up this subject at work.  Just curious to hear everyone's thoughts.  Is there any advantage (besides a cleaner syntax) of using C# over Visual Basic.?
