Brother MFC-7840W All-In-One Laser Printer Review
I'll get right to it, I can't find enough reasons to use this thing! I'm going to call it the best home office all-in-one (aka, MFC, Multi-Function Center) printer/scanner/copier/fax money can buy! Not that I have any experience with other...

HP ProLiant Server Motherboard Batteries
It's pretty tough finding the right motherboard battery if you don't have the dead one in hand. I couldn't find much information on the web and I tried to look on the motherboard for the battery code but couldn't find that either. Finally...

HP 5i Smart Array Windows Server 2008 R2 No Device Driver Found
I'm installing Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 on an HP DL585 G1 server with a built-in Smart Array 5i RAID controller. But during setup the installation routine doesn't recognize any of the logical drives configured on the 5i controller. I browsed...

Windows 7 SSD Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) 0x0000007b
I've got a Lenovo Thinkpad T61p running Windows 7 on a newly installed G.Skill Falcon 128MB SSD. If that wasn't cutting edge enough, I was trying to run triple monitors while it was docked in a Lenovo Advanced Dock with a PNY Quadro FX 570 PCI...

Asus Eee PC 1000HE Windows 7 Installation
Asus Eee PC 1000HE Windows 7 Installation Update BIOS - I first updated the BIOS from Windows XP. They say updating the BIOS improves video quality at the expense of turning the Dolby surround sound to regular stereo. Sounds good to me, unfortunately...

Thinkpad T61p Windows 7 Experience Index
My Lenovo Thinkpad T61p Windows 7 Experience Index jumped way up to a 5.0 after installing a solid state disk . I don't think anyone is going to beat that with a machine from February 2008!

Thinkpad T61p G.Skill Falcon 128GB SSD Installation
With the release of Windows 7 available on MSDN, I decided to upgrade to a solid state disk to really bring my Lenovo laptop up-to-date. I went with the G.Skill Falcon 128GB SSD from NewEgg because of the price, favorable reviews, and the fact that it...

Official Lenovo Petition of the Thinkpad T6xx SATA Limitation
I have just joined the ranks of the many very unsatisfied Lenovo Thinkpad T6xx owners who's 3.0Gbps capable SATA bus speeds are being capped at 1.5Gbps. What does that mean? It means if you put an SSD (solid state disk) hard drive in your T61p it...

Memorex Optical Media is Absolute Garbage!
I backed up a number of my DVDs to blank discs about a year ago and when I tried to play one this weekend it failed to be recognized by my computer. It either showed up as a blank disc or absolutely nothing at all! So now I'm going through all of...

Another Inexplicable Loss of Comcast Internet Service
Bunker Hollow was down all afternoon, and when the website is down that usually means my whole system is down. And it was. I was in the middle of composing an email in an Outlook RemoteApp right after lunch today and the thing just froze up on me. I tried...

Asus Eee PC 1000HE Review
Happy birthday me, and a big thanks to my lovely lady! My Asus 1000HE netbook was finally delivered yesterday and I've been playing with it almost non-stop. Overall, it's exactly what I thought it would be and I'm very satisfied with it. I'd...

Finally Back Online!
The day we drive half-way across the country is the day my system decides to stop working. While driving home for the holidays a friend let me know the site was down and from my fiance's iPhone I was able to determine the whole system had lost connection...

The Camcorder AV Cable, Who Knew?!
It's not often that an older piece of technology blows my mind, but it happened this week and I'm still reeling with disbelief. I had no idea this cable existed until a couple of days ago! It's simple enough; a triple-band 3.5mm (headphone...

Networking by Example - A Remote Desktop Tutorial
This is my attempt to write the document that I wish I had found while I was implementing this stuff for the first time a few years ago. Personally, I learn by example. I enjoy learning something new by researching it, but I feel I'm only confident...

Bad Memory Horror Story
I managed to salvage the travestry that was last night, but it was a really close call. Too close for comfort. Here's the story from the top... We got new BlackBerries at work, the BlackBerry Curve 8310. They're hooked up to our Exchange servers...
